The Covid-19 Pandemic is upon us, and we all need to adhere to all the hygiene protocols.
While it is important to ensure the well-being of our elders in the time of this global pandemic, let us take care of our children too. If this is new for us, imagine the psychological impact it has on our young ones. Take the time to explain it to them, first hand, as opposed to what they see and hear on social media, television and radio.

While we adhere to the precautionary measures that prevent the spread of the coronavirus, it is important to strengthen the defenses in our body through responsible and healthy nourishment. Having a healthy immune system means that our bodies can fight the virus.
Within the community there are a great variety of foods that grow and are produced that can cover the needs of our families and of those elders who live alone.

While countries all over the world are on lockdown, and panic is the order of the day, this is a time when Indigenous Peoples around the world are encouraged to stay calm, and be strong, in the face of severe adversity.
What is most important to note, is that our elderly are the most vulnerable. We need to take extra precaution to save the lives of the ones who are dear to us, and the ones who have shown us the way to go, who have guided our feet on the path that we all walk.

According to the World Health Organisation, coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe illnesses. Covid -19 is a type of coronavirus that is now affecting over 162 countries out of 195.

Joseph Itongwa On Climate Change In The Democratic Republic Of Congo

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, such as through variations in the solar cycle. But since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to burning fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas. Burning fossil fuels generates greenhouse gas emissions that act like a blanket wrapped around the Earth, trapping the sun’s heat and raising temperatures.

Asesinan a lideresa Indígena Berta Cáceres en medio de persecución política

La madrugada de jueves 3 de Marzo 2016 fue empañada con sangre derramada por manos asesinas que arrebataron la vida de Berta Cáceres, líder Indígena hondureña quien fue la principal promotora de una campaña contra la construcción de una represa hidroeléctrica en el Río Gualcarque, lugar sagrado para la etnia Lenca, con esto logró que la mayor constructora de represas a escala mundial, Sinohydro; desistiese de su participación en el proceso. Después de todas sus luchas sin temor a represaría Cáseres fue asesinada en La Esperanza, Intibucá.

A Un Año del Asesinato de Líder Indígena Hondureña Berta Cáceres

El pasado 2 de marzo se cumplió un año del violento asesinato en contra de la líder Indígena Berta Cáceres. Hasta la fecha, los actores intelectuales no han pagado por su crimen. Olivia Marcela Zuniga Cáceres, hija de Berta, nos expresa que celebran la vida de su madre y rememora sus palabras: "No hay mejor acto de mayor rebeldía que conservar la alegría, que construir la alegría".

El Coronavirus o Covid-19 a nivel mundial esta afectando la salud de los humanos. Los pueblos Indígenas ven la necesidad de estar informados sobre el tema en sus propios idiomas para proteger y prevenir el contagio de este virus.

Medidas para seguir cuidándonos en tiempo de Covid-19

Después de más de 2 años, el Covid-19 sigue causando enfermedades que van desde un resfriado común hasta complicaciones más graves. A la fecha, ha afectado la salud de más de 4 millones de personas en el mundo, según señala el sitio web de RTVE.

Actualmente existen algunas variantes de este virus que son más mortales, por ello las medidas sanitarias siguen siendo de vital prioridad para evitar el contagio.
