La población Garífuna en Honduras se encuentra ubicada en la costa norte del país en 47 comunidades, el pueblo Garífuna es reconocido por ese pulso tan latente, evidente en su forma de vida, una joya ancestral que por años ha revelado la importancia de su historia, el Pueblo Garífuna no está para ser una “Joya decorativa” así lo explica Ashanti crisanto en el artículo de Alison Chavés La lucha de los Garífunas por su territorio Adaptado para realizar este programa radial.

Para los Pueblos Indígenas la tierra es nuestra madre, es fuente de vida y de sabiduría; por esta razón, el cuidado de la tierra es fundamental en nuestras culturas. A lo largo de toda nuestra historia, hemos mantenido una estrecha relación con ella; no obstante, debido a la influencia de formas de vida ajenas que han llegado a nuestras comunidades, es necesario recordar a las nuevas generaciones el valor de la madre tierra.
