¿Le gustaría aprender sobre los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible conocidos como ODS? En esta ocasión le compartimos información específica sobre el objetivo 15, enfocado a la Vida de los Ecosistemas Terrestres, un tema que está estrechamente vinculado a los virus, y pandemias. Debido al reciente brote del Covid-19 se resalta la necesidad de abordar las amenazas a las que se enfrentan las especies silvestres y los ecosistemas.

¿Qué sabe sobre los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible conocidos como ODS? En este programa le compartimos información sobre el objetivo 8 enfocado al tema de economía mundial. Un crecimiento económico inclusivo y sostenido puede impulsar el progreso, crear empleos decentes para todos y mejorar los estándares de vida.

La igualdad de género no solo es un derecho humano fundamental, sino que es uno de los fundamentos esenciales para construir un mundo pacífico, próspero y sostenible. Este derecho está específicamente estipulado dentro de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible u ODS establecido por Naciones Unida

Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible establecidos por Naciones Unidas están estrechamente vinculados con los aportes Pueblos Indígenas y ahora que sufrimos la amenaza de la actual crisis sanitaria.

¿Ha escuchado sobre los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible? Cultural Survival pone a su disposición este programa en idioma Bribri específicamente sobre el objetivo de número 1 enfocado a ponerle fin a la pobreza para el año 2030, considerando la suma importancia de que los pueblos Indígenas se mantengan informados en sus propios idiomas para poder involucrarse en alcanzar esta meta para el año 2030.

Violations of Land Rights continue in Brazil, including the criminalization of Indigenous Peoples who are trying to defend their rights to land.  

John Scott highlights the importance of using processes established by Indigenous communities when gaining free, prior and informed consent for activities which will take place on their lands. He also talks about the importance of including traditional knowledge of Indigenous Peoples at the UN Permanent Forum.

After many meetings with the State, the Belize national court has acknowledged legal Indigenous rights to their land and affirmed that the government may not use, destruct, or occupy Indigenous land.

Josh Cooper speaks about climate change and its impact on Indigenous Peoples. Indigenous Peoples are being impacted by climate change, specifically in Oceania, and Josh Cooper is working to create World Climate Justice Day to bring further awareness to the issue.

Christopher Kuaiwa of Hawaii speaks about the destruction of a sacred mountain in his community and wants to spread his message of advocacy for Indigenous Rights throughout the world. He also participated in an intervention and proposed recommendations in the Permanent Forum regarding the 30-meter telescope that is proposed to be built on the sacred mountain calling to halt construction and divest.

Josh Cooper speaks about deep seabed mining and the risks associated with this type of exploration for Indigenous Peoples and the environment.

Kealii Gora of Hawaii gives advice on how to get involved in advocating for Indigenous rights. Gora believes it is important to get Indigenous voices on the record and present concerns and perspectives in international arenas to make a change.

Josh Cooper speaks about the importance of the Universal Periodic Review in securing Indigenous rights. Governments can propose recommendations on behalf on Indigenous Peoples in the Universal Periodic Review process.
