Una serie de entrevistas con mujeres (y un hombre) sacadas durante la Conferencia Global de Mujeres Indigenas en Noviembre de 2013 en Lima, Peru. En el pasado, las mujeres indígenas nunca habían visto limites de su territorio, pero ahora se encuentran en una situación difícil, demarcando su tierra y sumiendo concepciones del territorio. Estas mujeres quieren un cambio para que pare la explotación de la tierra, y para respetar la naturaleza y el territorio en que ellas viven.

Estas mujeres indígenas del país de Colombia están tratando de transmitir la importancia del consentimiento previo, libre, e informado a sus pueblos. Para estas mujeres, es importante y compartir experiencias y también adquirir el conocimiento de los derechos humanos y los derechos indígenas.

Maylei Blackwell works with Indigenous migrants from Mexico who live in the Los Angeles area. Blackwell states that being fixated on geographic boundaries only inhibits one from seeing immigrants as our Indigenous brothers and sisters.

These indigenous youth leaders from around the world say that everyone has some form of indigenous roots, and if those roots are disconnected, one must communicate with indigenous persons directly in order to begin to understand them. Indigenous people around the world share many common struggles but continue to fight for their rights.
