En un episodio más desde la COP 30, escuchemos a María José Andrade Cerda, Activista y Lídereza Indígena Kichwa de Ecuador, ella es representante de Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas de la Amazonía Ecuatoriana (CONFENAIE) quien nos informa sobre las demandas de las juventudes indígenas en la COP30.

Jitsvinger (real name Quintin Goliath) is a celebrated South African artist from the Cape Flats known for fusing hip hop, poetry, theatre, and storytelling into a distinctive performance style rooted in Afrikaaps—the vernacular Afrikaans dialect of Cape Town. In this radio interview, Jitsvinger tells us about how his heritage influenced his music. We hear how Indigenous Khoi and San languages mixed with Dutch and languages from others who were brought to South Africa as slaves, contributed to the formation of Afrikaans, and how this heritage influences his music.

Slavery played a significant role in the early history of Paarl, Western Cape, particularly during the 17th and 18th centuries under Dutch and later British colonial rule. Enslaved people—brought mainly from East Africa, Madagascar, India, and Southeast Asia, as well as Indigenous Khoisan people—were forced to work on farms, vineyards, and in households, forming the backbone of the local agricultural economy. Their labour was central to the development of Paarl’s wine and wheat industries.

States should ensure that Indigenous Peoples have equal access to high quality education which recognises their cultural diversity, and to social and economic programmes around housing, water, and sanitation.

This series of 24 PSAs is based on the Outcome Document of the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples, which took place in September of 2014 in New York. The PSAs highlight specific passages of the Outcome Document in an effort to inform audiences of exactly what the document contains and encourage action.

Esta es una entrevista con Rodolfo, un lider indígena de Bolivia, sobre los beneficios de la lucha para proteger derechos de Pueblos Indígenas en bolivia, incluye derechos de educación Indígena, con su propia estructura y su propia forma educativa, y derecho a enseñar el idioma local Indígena al lado de otras idiomas.

Nina Cass, of New South Wales, Australia, discusses her work with Madala, a youth organization that helps Indigenous young people go to school as well as the issues facing the Indigenous Peoples in Australia such as the promotion of culture, relocation, discrimination, suicide, etc. and how she can help in her role. 

Terra Madre means "Mother Earth" in Latin. The theme of the Indigenous Terra Madre conference was to celebrate the bio and cultural diversity that is the asset of Indigenous communities. The aim of this gathering is to share ideas, to come together, and be inspired or be warned, and to make people aware that our local food systems. It also seeks to build awareness that "the way we cooked in the past, and the wild plants around us are more important for our health than all the medicines we take.
