Victoria Sánchez, Indígena Muisca de Colombia nos habla sobre la lucha de su comunidad por el tema de las tierras, enfrentan muchos retos ya que esta comunidad geográficamente situado en el centro de Colombia y el gobierno distrital urbano han invadido los territorios de las comunidades, también menciona como el gobierno distrital y el nacional no les ampara ni le reconoce sus derechos de tierra pese a sus denuncias.

Diana Pizarro, delegada del Banco Mundial y especialista social en la unidad de desarrollo social en América Latina, nos habla sobre la función de este en la región.

Por el Derecho al Consentimiento Libre, Previo e Informado, los gobiernos tienen que mantener a las comunidades indígenas informadas sobre cualquier proyecto que quieran desarrollar en sus tierras y escuchar sus opiniones antes de realizarlo.

The idea of every human being’s ’right to food’ is nothing new these days, however, looking specifically at this idea in relation to Indigenous Peoples is an exciting and important movement that is gaining steam fast, and rightfully so. International conferences, under the title Indigenous Terra Madre, have been held across the globe first in Sweden in 2011 and then India to explore topics related to Indigenous food sovereignty and better spread the vast agricultural knowledge that has been passed down through Indigenous communities for generations.

In this interview, she explains the benefits of the participation of Indigenous Peoples in local and global decision-making, which would bring a diversity of perspective and solutions to pressing issues.
