Reclaiming What Belongs To Us - Khoi And San At Table Mountain

In October 2020, a group of people representing different Khoi and San Tribes gathered at the foot of Table Mountain in South Africa. There they have created a cultural space where they will stay for an indefinite period of time in an effort to reclaim the mountain. With the temporary huts providing a little shelter, and fire providing a little warmth, they are making it known that the mountain and the area surrounding it had once belonged to their ancestors. Bradley van Sitters is among the folks camped out at the foot of the mountain.

Rooibos Tea - South Africa's Indigenous Peoples Reclaim Their Birthright

Humanity NPC travelled to the home of Rooibos Tea in Wuperthal, South Africa, to talk to the Indigenous people there about the origins of the tea, and how it had been in their families for generations. This podcast also discusses the benefit sharing agreement, which promises that a benefit of the sales of the tea will go to the Indigenous Khoi and San people of the region and what it means to the people of Wuperthal.

Los idiomas maternos representan una de las mayores riquezas para los pueblos Indígenas, sin embargo existen serios problemas para su conservación; la falta de atención e interés de los Estados para preservarlos es uno de ellos por otro lado, los actos de discriminación en las escuelas y en varios espacios de la vida cotidiana hacen que muchas personas Indígenas opten por dejar de hablar su idioma hasta el punto de olvidarlo o evitar enseñarlo a sus nuevas generaciones.

CORONAVIRUS, Autonomía en la Guardia Indígena

El coronavirus ha venido afectar a todo el mundo, actualmente existen más de 127 millones de casos en el mundo y ha ocasionado más de 2 millones de casos en el mundo según datos de la revista virtual RTVE.

Las comunidades Indígenas son las que se han visto más afectadas, pero son ellas mismas quienes también han tomado acciones de prevención y cuidados. Por ejemplo, son las comunidades quienes se han organizado para llevar información sobre este virus, así como también proporcionar medicina en base a sus plantas y conocimiento tradicional.

Día Mundial de la Salud y el Rol de los Pueblos Indígenas

El Día Mundial de la Salud se celebra cada año el 7 de abril.
Este día es propicio para reflexionar sobre los retos y desafíos que cada país tiene para garantizar que sus habitantes gocen de salud justa e igualitaria.

¿Qué compromisos se deben asumir para garantizar la salud ante la presencia de covid-19? ¿Cuál ha sido el rol de los pueblos Indígenas en este tema?
