Cathy Fournier On Indigenous Identity And Health

Because of colonisation, many Indigenous Peoples face issues of discovering who they are, in terms of identity. Sometimes, this is as a result of education or religion.
Sometimes we question our own indigeneity, and perhaps, in some cases, there are reasons for this.
Each of us has a different past, a different coming together of events, that has led to who we are, and where we come from.
Cultural Survivals Avexnim Cojti spoke to Cathy Fournier, from the University of Torronto, in Canada.

01. What is Free, Prior, Informed Consent? (Nepali) पुर्व सुसूचित जानकारी सहितको स्वतन्त्र मन्जुरी भनेको के हो ?

पुर्व सुसूचित जानकारी सहितको स्वतन्त्र मन्जुरी अधिकार भनेको सरकारले आदिवासी जनजातिहरुको भुमि, भुक्षेत्र, प्राकृतिक स्रोत साधनमाथी कुनै किसिमको विकास कार्यक्रमहरु आयोजना गर्नु अगाडी आदिवासीहरुसँग बिना करकाप परामर्श गरिनुपर्छ र उनीहरुको आवाजलाई सुनिनुपर्दछ भन्ने मान्यता हो । The right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent means that governments have to inform Indigenous communities about any development projects they want to start in their territories, and listen to their opinions before beginning the project. 05. UN Declaration, Article 10 (Nepali) ५) आदिवासीको अधिकार सम्बन्धी संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघीय घोषणापत्रको धारा १० ।

Reclaiming What Belongs To Us - Khoi And San At Table Mountain

In October 2020, a group of people representing different Khoi and San Tribes gathered at the foot of Table Mountain in South Africa. There they have created a cultural space where they will stay for an indefinite period of time in an effort to reclaim the mountain. With the temporary huts providing a little shelter, and fire providing a little warmth, they are making it known that the mountain and the area surrounding it had once belonged to their ancestors. Bradley van Sitters is among the folks camped out at the foot of the mountain.

CORONAVIRUS, Autonomía en la Guardia Indígena

El coronavirus ha venido afectar a todo el mundo, actualmente existen más de 127 millones de casos en el mundo y ha ocasionado más de 2 millones de casos en el mundo según datos de la revista virtual RTVE.

Las comunidades Indígenas son las que se han visto más afectadas, pero son ellas mismas quienes también han tomado acciones de prevención y cuidados. Por ejemplo, son las comunidades quienes se han organizado para llevar información sobre este virus, así como también proporcionar medicina en base a sus plantas y conocimiento tradicional.
