States should work with indigenous women and their communities to enable programmes around capacity building and strengthening of leadership. Indigenous women need to be included in decision making processes, at each level and in all areas.

This series of 24 PSAs is based on the Outcome Document of the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples, which took place in September of 2014 in New York. The PSAs highlight specific passages of the Outcome Document in an effort to inform audiences of exactly what the document contains and encourage action.

Nancy Bordeaux (Sicangu Lakota) from South Dakota shares her work in domestic violence and sexual assault and gives advice on how to make a change. She speaks about historical trauma and its effects on Native American peoples today. Nancy works with women who are victims of domestic violence and human trafficking and hopes to lessen the economic and mental health disparities in Indigenous women.  We caught up with Nancy at the UNPFII 2015. 

Lemoine LaPointe, a Lakota of South Dakota and Minnesota, speaks about community conversations and their importance in providing support for Indigenous Peoples and their relationship with the surrounding region both in the present and in the future.  We met up with Lemoine at the UNPFII 2015.

स्वतंत्र पूर्वगामी एवं सूचित सहमति के अधिकार का अर्थ है कि इस्से पहले की सरकार स्वदेशी ज़मीन पर विकास परियोजनायो का प्रक्रिया शुरू करे, उन्हे उस ज़मीन के अधिकारी स्वदेशी जनता को अपने योजना के बारे में बताना आवश्यक होगा। इस तरह वे अपनी परियोजना के शुरू होने से पहले स्वदेशी लोगों की राय ले सकते हें।  

स्वतंत्र पूर्वगामी एवं सूचित सहमति हर स्वदेशी का जन्मसिद्ध अधिकार हें।

स्वदेशी समुदायों को सरकार को उनके स्वदेशी ज़मीनों पे अपना हक प्रभाव करके उनका नाश नही करने देना चाहिए। यह स्वदेशी अधिकार के खिलाफ हें।

यह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है की स्वदेशी जनता ऐसे नेताओं का चुनाव करे जो सिर्फ़ सरकार के भले के बारे में न सोचके स्वदेशी हितों के बारे में भी सोचेंगे।

 इससे पहले के कोई राज्य ऐसा कोई विधायी या प्रशासनिक कदम उठाए जो स्वदेशी जनता को प्रभावित करे, उन्हे स्थानीय लोगों की स्वतंत्र पूर्वगामी एवं सूचित सहमति लेनी होगी।

सरकार स्वदेशी जनता के स्वतंत्र पूर्वगामी एवं सूचित सहमति के बगैर उनके ज़मीनों पर कोई हानिकारक सामग्री नही रख सकती है. 

 सरकार स्वदेशी जनता के स्वतंत्र पूर्वगामी एवं सूचित सहमति के बगैर ऐसी कोई विकास परियोजना की मंज़ूरी नही दे सकती जो स्वदेशियों की ज़मीनों और साधनों  पर असर दे सकती है।

स्वदेशी लोगों के अधिकारों पर संयुक्त राष्ट्रा घोषणा पत्र एवं अन्य अंतरराष्ट्रीय यंत्र स्वतंत्र पूर्वगामी एवं सूचित सहमति को स्वदेशी जनता का अधिकार मानते है।

 स्वदेशी जनता के लिए स्वतंत्र पूर्वगामी एवं सूचित सहमति एक मौलिक, निहित, एवं अविच्छेद्य अधिकार है।

स्वतंत्र पूर्वगामी एवं सूचित सहमति हर स्वदेशी का अधिकार है और सरकार इस अधिकार की रक्षा के लिए बाध्य है।
