The global Land Back movement is a collective and deeply rooted effort by Indigenous communities to reclaim ancestral lands that were taken through colonization, forced removal, and broken treaties. Far beyond a call for restitution, Land Back is about restoring sovereignty, cultural revitalization, and environmental stewardship. It is a continuous and evolving struggle to reassert Indigenous rights and reaffirm the sacred, reciprocal relationship between people and the land—a relationship that has sustained ecosystems for millennia.

Indigenous communities face compounded challenges due to climate-induced displacement. Forced relocations not only disrupt their physical environment but also erode traditional governance structures, cultural practices, and spiritual beliefs, leading to significant mental health issues. The loss of ancestral lands and the erosion of cultural identity pose profound threats to the well-being and resilience of Indigenous peoples.On June 20th, 2025 let us stand in solidarity with all those who had to flee from their homes to seek safety and shelter.

Whether descendants of transatlantic slaves or immigrants, they are among the poorest and most marginalized, in some cases. Nevertheless, people of African descent possess a great multicultural richness, and resilience and significantly contribute to every facet of life.

Education should be accessible to all, regardless of gender, race, or any other factor. Quality education should be a priority for all governments. Education should be tailored to meet the needs of each individual student.
In the absence of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong opportunities for all, countries will not succeed in achieving gender equality and breaking the cycle of poverty that is leaving millions behind.

The Kalinga Mission for Indigenous Children and Youth, led by Donato Bumacas, promotes values of biodiversity conservation, with the goal of poverty reduction. These values are upheld using Indigenous traditional knowledge systems and technologies to conserve and maintain the local forests. Sustainable Indigenous agricultural technology is implemented, with the goal of passing these systems down to future generations, as this knowledge was passed down to them.
