La Organización Mundial de la Salud ha señalado que el Coronavirus ha afectado a más de 170 países. Este virus causa enfermedades que van desde el resfriado común hasta enfermedades más graves.

En respuesta a esta emergencia mundial, los pueblos Indígenas se han organizado y creado material radiofónico en sus propios idiomas ejerciendo así el derecho a estar informados. Tal es el caso de la Organización Indígena de Colombia ONIC quien ha trabajado una serie especial en idioma Inga sobre prevención y cuidado ante esta crisis sanitaria por coronavirus.

Los combustibles fósiles y otras fuentes de energía convencionales liberan muchos gases de efecto invernadero que perjudican al medio ambiente. Por esta razón, a nivel mundial se habla de la necesidad de una transición hacia el uso de fuentes de energías más limpias y el desarrollo de tecnologías como los sistemas de almacenamiento en baterías. No obstante, para la creación de dichas baterías son necesarios los llamados “minerales de transición”, cuya extracción aumenta el peligro de nuevos desplazamientos y despojo de territorios de los Pueblos Indígenas.

Jitsvinger (real name Quintin Goliath) is a celebrated South African artist from the Cape Flats known for fusing hip hop, poetry, theatre, and storytelling into a distinctive performance style rooted in Afrikaaps—the vernacular Afrikaans dialect of Cape Town. In this radio interview, Jitsvinger tells us about how his heritage influenced his music. We hear how Indigenous Khoi and San languages mixed with Dutch and languages from others who were brought to South Africa as slaves, contributed to the formation of Afrikaans, and how this heritage influences his music.
