En el corazón de los bosques y selvas en Costa Rica, habitan 9 naciones Indígenas distribuidas en 24 regiones territoriales entre ellas la nación Bribri el cual tiene mayor presencia en toda la región.

Lamentablemente estas han sido parte del despojo y discriminación universal que los pueblos originarios en el mundo han vivido históricamente.

Agua y Saneamiento (ODS#6), en idioma Bribri

¿Qué sabe sobre los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible conocidos como ODS? en este programa le compartimos información sobre el objetivo 6 enfocado a garantizar que todas las personas en el mundo puedan tener acceso a servicios sanitarios adecuados y agua limpia, pues actualmente las Naciones Unidas señala que en todo el mundo, una de cada tres personas no tiene acceso a agua potable salubre, dos de cada cinco personas no disponen de una instalación básica destinada a lavarse las manos con agua y jabón y no cuentan con servicios sanitarios adecuados.

Acción por el Clima, ODS#13, en Idioma Bribri

¿Qué sabe sobre los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible conocidos como ODS? En este programa le compartimos información específica sobre el objetivo 13 enfocado a la Acción por el clima. El año 2019 marcó el final de la década más calurosa en todos los tiempos y aunque las distintas restricciones derivadas de la pandemia por Covid-19 hicieron que las emisiones de gases caigan, esta mejora solo es temporal.

Se han vivido afectaciones en la salud, en la economía, en la alimentación, en la educación, entre otras áreas. ¿Cómo han hecho frente a esta contingencia sanitaria los Pueblos Indígenas? ¿A qué se han enfrentado? ¿Qué medidas han tomado para evitar contagios en sus territorios?

La pandemia de Covid-19 y el liderazgo de las mujeres, en Tacuate

Durante la pandemia de Covid-19 las mujeres han tenido un papel fundamental, respondiendo con eficacia a las necesidades que trajo consigo esta contingencia sanitaria. No obstante, se acrecentaron las dificultades para el ejercicio de su derecho a la participación política y se enfrentaron, entre otras cosas, a un incremento en las jornadas de cuidados hacia sus familias, a mayor marginación y violencia.

Juventud Indígena y emprendimiento a raíz de la pandemia, en Tacuate

Durante más de dos años, la pandemia de Covid-19 ha ocasionado problemas en áreas como la salud, alimentación, economía, entre otras. En los momentos de mayores contagios, muchos centros de trabajo tuvieron que cerrar sus puertas y decenas de personas se quedaron sin empleo, situación que los llevó a emprender nuevos proyectos para lograr sostenerse económicamente.

Los Derechos Humanos son normas que reconocen y protegen la dignidad de todos los seres humanos desde que nacen, sin distinción alguna de nacionalidad, origen étnico, religión, lengua o cualquier otra condición. Todos tenemos los mismos derechos y éstos van desde los esenciales, como el derecho a la vida, hasta otros que aseguran una existencia digna, como el derecho a la alimentación, a la educación, al trabajo, a la salud y a la participación política.

01. What is Free, Prior, Informed Consent? (Nepali) पुर्व सुसूचित जानकारी सहितको स्वतन्त्र मन्जुरी भनेको के हो ?

पुर्व सुसूचित जानकारी सहितको स्वतन्त्र मन्जुरी अधिकार भनेको सरकारले आदिवासी जनजातिहरुको भुमि, भुक्षेत्र, प्राकृतिक स्रोत साधनमाथी कुनै किसिमको विकास कार्यक्रमहरु आयोजना गर्नु अगाडी आदिवासीहरुसँग बिना करकाप परामर्श गरिनुपर्छ र उनीहरुको आवाजलाई सुनिनुपर्दछ भन्ने मान्यता हो । The right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent means that governments have to inform Indigenous communities about any development projects they want to start in their territories, and listen to their opinions before beginning the project. Taking Care Of Our Elders During The Covid - 19 Pandemic_Nepali

This is a public service announcement about the coronavirus or Covid-19 disease outbreak.
While countries all over the world are on lockdown, and panic is the order of the day, this is a time when Indigenous Peoples around the world are encouraged to stay calm, and be strong, in the face of severe adversity.
What is most important to note, is that our elderly are the most vulnerable. We need to take extra precaution to save the lives of the ones who are dear to us, and the ones who have shown us the way to go, who have guided our feet on the path that we all walk.
