La pandemia por Covid-19 se ha reducido drásticamente. Sin embargo, a nivel mundial nos seguimos enfrentando a distintas problemáticas derivadas de esta contingencia sanitaria. Actualmente, la generación de “nueva basura”, como cubrebocas, caretas y botellas de gel antibacterial está causando mucho daño al medio ambiente. De acuerdo con diferentes organizaciones, esta situación nos está llevando a un retroceso en cuanto a la acumulación de plásticos, producto de una cultura de usar y tirar, sumada a una tasa de reciclaje poco significativa o efectiva.

En sus territorios hay selvas, bosques y otros ecosistemas que han sido resguardados desde tiempos ancestrales junto a cientos de variedades de plantas, hongos y animales. Este es el caso de la comunidad purépecha de Santa Fe de la Laguna, Michoacán, México, en cuyos bosques de propiedad comunal se conservan distintas variedades de hongos comestibles.
