Lamentablemente estas han sido parte del despojo y discriminación universal que los pueblos originarios en el mundo han vivido históricamente.

Lamentablemente estas han sido parte del despojo y discriminación universal que los pueblos originarios en el mundo han vivido históricamente.

¿Qué sabe sobre los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible conocidos como ODS? en este programa le compartimos información sobre el objetivo 6 enfocado a garantizar que todas las personas en el mundo puedan tener acceso a servicios sanitarios adecuados y agua limpia, pues actualmente las Naciones Unidas señala que en todo el mundo, una de cada tres personas no tiene acceso a agua potable salubre, dos de cada cinco personas no disponen de una instalación básica destinada a lavarse las manos con agua y jabón y no cuentan con servicios sanitarios adecuados.

La pandemia de Covid-19 ha afectado de diferentes formas la vida en los pueblos y comunidades Indígenas. Se han vivido afectaciones en la salud, en la economía, en la alimentación, en la educación, entre otras áreas. ¿Cómo han hecho frente a esta contingencia sanitaria los Pueblos Indígenas? ¿A qué se han enfrentado? ¿Qué medidas han tomado para evitar contagios en sus territorios?

Durante la pandemia de Covid-19 las mujeres han tenido un papel fundamental, respondiendo con eficacia a las necesidades que trajo consigo esta contingencia sanitaria. No obstante, se acrecentaron las dificultades para el ejercicio de su derecho a la participación política y se enfrentaron, entre otras cosas, a un incremento en las jornadas de cuidados hacia sus familias, a mayor marginación y violencia.

Durante más de dos años, la pandemia de Covid-19 ha ocasionado problemas en áreas como la salud, alimentación, economía, entre otras. En los momentos de mayores contagios, muchos centros de trabajo tuvieron que cerrar sus puertas y decenas de personas se quedaron sin empleo, situación que los llevó a emprender nuevos proyectos para lograr sostenerse económicamente. 

Los Derechos Humanos son normas que reconocen y protegen la dignidad de todos los seres humanos desde que nacen, sin distinción alguna de nacionalidad, origen étnico, religión, lengua o cualquier otra condición. Todos tenemos los mismos derechos y éstos van desde los esenciales, como el derecho a la vida, hasta otros que aseguran una existencia digna, como el derecho a la alimentación, a la educación, al trabajo, a la salud y a la participación política.   

La pandemia de Covid-19 sigue causando estragos a nivel mundial, por lo cual es indispensable que los integrantes de pueblos y comunidades Indígenas continuemos cuidándonos, especialmente frente al desarrollo de nuevas variantes de esta enfermedad respiratoria. Una de las formas de cuidarnos es alimentándonos sanamente. ¿Sabes cómo hacerlo?
