The theme of the twenty-second session of the UNPFII will be “Indigenous Peoples, human health, planetary and territorial health, and climate change: a rights-based approach”.
Cultural Survival attended the conference and spoke to some of the delegates who attended.

The Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is underway in New York, in April 2023.
The first meeting of the Permanent Forum was held in May 2002, with yearly sessions thereafter. The Forum usually meets for 10 days each year, at the UN Headquarters in New York. According to the ECOSOC resolution E/2000/22, the Forum may also meet at the UN Office in Geneva or at such other place that it decides.
Cultural Survival attended the permanent forum in April 2023, and spoke to some of the delegates who attended.

Indigenous storytelling production company Wapanatahk Media has reached a television development deal with Anthony Johnson and Dr. James Makokis, a Two-Spirit Indigenous couple and winners of season 7 of The Amazing Race Canada.

The factual series will follow Johnson and Makokis as they pursue their mission to educate the masses about Indigenous cultural teachings, helping Canadians embark on their own transformational journeys and welcoming them into Nizhoni Acres, the couple's dream property, which they are currently renovating using the prize money from Amazing Race.

Patrick Hunter is a Two-Spirit Ojibway artist from the community of Red Lake, in North Western Ontario. He paints in the Woodland style and has created his own company called Patrick Hunter Art & Design.

UN Special Rapporteur Vicky Tauli Corpuz discusses the international trade deal known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership which is being negotiated by Canada,The United States, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Singapore, Brunei, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. She discusses why governments are pushing for it, and its implications for Indigenous Peoples.

El 12 de octubre de 1492, cuando Cristóbal Colón llegó al territorio que hoy es conocido como continente americano, los Pueblos que ancestralmente habitábamos estas tierras comenzamos una lucha que continúa hasta nuestros días: luchamos para seguir existiendo como lo que somos, Pueblos Indígenas con una lengua, cultura, tradiciones, espiritualidad, territorios y formas de organización y de vida que nos son propias desde tiempos inmemoriales. 

Trata sobre la guía espiritual en la Comarca Kuna Yala, al igual que la comunicación entre las comunidades y la representación del congreso general Kuna.

Comunidad de Boruca en Costa Rica explica el proyecto de rescates de culturas en la comunidad entre ellas el idioma materno, y expresan gracias al maestro del pueblo les ha ayudado a esta sobrevivencia cultural. 

En Panamá, las maestras de primaria Yenny Hernandez expresa la importancia de no olvidar las raíces e identidad cultural Kuna, mientras que la maestra Marina Acosta menciona la importancia de que los niños valoren sus raíces Ngobe al igual que la lengua materna, al igual que la importancia de La Ley Nº10 

Diferentes miembros de Costa Rica y Panamá expresan sus opiniones sobre la importancia de la radio comunitaria. 

Graciela Arias, Coordinadora nacional de Mujeres Indígenas en Panamá, una gran líder entre las mujeres. Expresa alguno de los  obstáculos que ha tenido que sobrepasar como mujer líder dentro de su comunidad. Exhorta, a niñas y jóvenes de seguir adelante a pesar de las pruebas en el camino. 

Ignacio Tropman joven emprendedor quien fundó una organización para formar líderes.

Gilberto Arias opina sobre las alianzas y como han llevado a logros y contribuciones  que han beneficiado a comunidades Indígenas.
