Desde la época de la colonia los pueblos Indígenas han sido despojados y obligados a olvidarse de su cultura, cosmovisión y formas propias de vida. Algunos colonizadores abogaban por el exterminio físico de ellos y otros pensaban que era más prudente “matar al indio y salvar al hombre”.

States must obtain Free, Prior and Informed Consent from Indigenous Peoples before taking legislative or administrative measures which will affect them.
