Shannon Foster on Land Management Practices

Shannon Foster is a Sydney D'harawal Knowledge Keeper, educator, and artist. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. with the Center for the Advancement of Indigenous Knowledges at the University of Technology in Sydney. Drawing on traditional knowledge, Indigenous leaders have advocated for changes to current land management practices for decades to help limit anticipated future fire damage. Aboriginal people have a deep knowledge of their lands, and traditional burning practices can help prevent massive destruction.

First Bachelors Degree Issued At Ilisagvik College!

Radio Tuklik en México es una emisora que ha producido programas sobre el tema de alimentación en base al maíz. Este programa fue elaborado en marco al proyecto del Colectivo Ko’oneex Tuklik Múul Kuxtal que junto con la Red Juvenil Tumben Tuukul están llevando a cabo la iniciativa de comunicación, quienes están presentes es seis comunidades de Yucatán: Mayapán, Cholul, Cantamayec, Nenelá, Timul y Tahdziú.

Educación en Casa y Brecha Tecnológica para población Indígena

La pandemia por Covid-19 ha generado un colapso en el tema de salud, alimentación y por supuesto en la educación. Este último implicó una nueva modalidad de “Educación en casa” lo que generó varios desafíos principalmente para la población Indígena.

La educación a distancia o desde casa ha generado mayor inversión económica para familias de escasos recursos quienes no han encontrado otra alternativa que retirar de los centros educativos a los niños y adolescentes principalmente.

La asistencia Legal es un derecho que los Pueblo Originarios han exigido en México y que han alcanzado materializar en la constitución, sin embargo, son muchos los casos en los que dicho derecho es violentado, así lo expone Rubina Flores Indígena Na Savi, de Guerrero, México, quien en su artículo “La falta de intérpretes y traductores de lenguas Indígenas en el sistema de justicia en México” expone algunas fallas del sistema de justicia y consecuencias para quienes no hablan español.
