Ante esto radio comunitaria Balam Sterio de Guatemala ha abordado este tema realizando producciones cortas sobre recomendaciones para el consumo seguro de agua como: hervir el agua antes de consumirla, lavar las manos con agua y jabón para evitar enfermedades.

Los derechos humanos y de Pueblos Indígenas, son fundamentales que se cumplan, para ello es indispensable que los pueblos Indígenas y la ciudadanía en general esté informada sobre sus derechos.

Radio comunitaria Xyaab’ Tzuultaq’a de Guatemala se ha dado a la taré de abordar este tema en su idioma Q'eqchí para que todos y todas las personas de su comunidad estén informados. Usted puede escuchar, descargar y compartir este programa de forma gratuita.

Shannon Foster is a Sydney D'harawal Knowledge Keeper, educator, and artist. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. with the Center for the Advancement of Indigenous Knowledges at the University of Technology in Sydney. Drawing on traditional knowledge, Indigenous leaders have advocated for changes to current land management practices for decades to help limit anticipated future fire damage. Aboriginal people have a deep knowledge of their lands, and traditional burning practices can help prevent massive destruction.

What is the state of education among Indigenous Peoples? Khoe language activist Denver Breda gives us an in-depth understanding of the situation in South Africa in particular with regard to Indigenous peoples as well as people with slave ancestry.

Exposure of Indian tribals to education has been a rarity. Even after education, the caste-ridden mainstream system has continued to question tribal identities and push them to the far end of the social periphery.

Anchorage resident Darian Danner received her first bachelor’s
degree from the University of Anchorage. But when Ilisagvik College offered a
tuition waiver to Alaska Native and American Indian students, getting her second
degree was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Las radios comunitarias en el mundo tienen un rol fundamental en el tema de difusión de diversos temas entre ellos sabiduría ancestral, seguridad y soberanía alimentaria.

Radio Tuklik en México es una emisora que ha producido programas sobre el tema de alimentación en base al maíz. Este programa fue elaborado en marco al proyecto del Colectivo Ko’oneex Tuklik Múul Kuxtal que junto con la Red Juvenil Tumben Tuukul están llevando a cabo la iniciativa de comunicación, quienes están presentes es seis comunidades de Yucatán: Mayapán, Cholul, Cantamayec, Nenelá, Timul y Tahdziú.

Clayton Shirt is a counsellor and Traditional native healer at University of Toronto, Canada. He is a pipe carrier, sweat lodge keeper and is a traditional healer since a young age. Cultural Survivals Avex Cojti sat down to interview Mr. Clayton shirt in Canada earlier in 2020, he tells us about his journey.

Patric Tariq Mellet is a heritage researcher whose search for his father roused his curiosity to find out who he was, and where he comes from. This journey has resulted in him becoming a subject matter expert on matters relating to the history of South Africa. In this interview, Diana Morat gets to know more about his book entitled, The Lie of 1652. Diana is a presenter at Eldos FM in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, South Africa.

October is pride month in South Africa. We spoke to Denver Toroga Breda, an Indigenous language activist from Cape Town, on being Indigenous and belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community.

La pandemia por Covid-19 ha generado un colapso en el tema de salud, alimentación y por supuesto en la educación. Este último implicó una nueva modalidad de “Educación en casa” lo que generó varios desafíos principalmente para la población Indígena.

La educación a distancia o desde casa ha generado mayor inversión económica para familias de escasos recursos quienes no han encontrado otra alternativa que retirar de los centros educativos a los niños y adolescentes principalmente.

La asistencia Legal es un derecho que los Pueblo Originarios han exigido en México y que han alcanzado materializar en la constitución, sin embargo, son muchos los casos en los que dicho derecho es violentado, así lo expone Rubina Flores Indígena Na Savi, de Guerrero, México, quien en su artículo “La falta de intérpretes y traductores de lenguas Indígenas en el sistema de justicia en México” expone algunas fallas del sistema de justicia y consecuencias para quienes no hablan español.
