Exposure of Indian tribals to education has been a rarity. Even after education, the caste-ridden mainstream system has continued to question tribal identities and push them to the far end of the social periphery.

Radio Tuklik en México es una emisora que ha producido programas sobre el tema de alimentación en base al maíz. Este programa fue elaborado en marco al proyecto del Colectivo Ko’oneex Tuklik Múul Kuxtal que junto con la Red Juvenil Tumben Tuukul están llevando a cabo la iniciativa de comunicación, quienes están presentes es seis comunidades de Yucatán: Mayapán, Cholul, Cantamayec, Nenelá, Timul y Tahdziú.

La pandemia por Covid-19 ha generado un colapso en el tema de salud, alimentación y por supuesto en la educación. Este último implicó una nueva modalidad de “Educación en casa” lo que generó varios desafíos principalmente para la población Indígena.

La educación a distancia o desde casa ha generado mayor inversión económica para familias de escasos recursos quienes no han encontrado otra alternativa que retirar de los centros educativos a los niños y adolescentes principalmente.

La asistencia Legal es un derecho que los Pueblo Originarios han exigido en México y que han alcanzado materializar en la constitución, sin embargo, son muchos los casos en los que dicho derecho es violentado, así lo expone Rubina Flores Indígena Na Savi, de Guerrero, México, quien en su artículo “La falta de intérpretes y traductores de lenguas Indígenas en el sistema de justicia en México” expone algunas fallas del sistema de justicia y consecuencias para quienes no hablan español.

La pandemia, el COVID-19, el distanciamiento social nos han puesto enfrente retos sobre ¿Qué significa la educación en casa? o ¿cuáles son las acciones de la administración educativa? pero, sobretodo ¿Cómo se mejora el modelo de educación que se toma de referencia? la autora Maya yucateca de México, Sasil Sánchez Chan en el artículo “La educación válida y el escenario comunitario” expone el tema de discriminación intersectorial.

El agua es un vital líquido para la subsistencia de la humanidad. Sin embargo muchas personas no tienen acceso a ella y menos cuando están fuera de su comunidad.

Unicel, duroport, desechables, plásticos... Estos son algunos nombres que se les asignan a todo aquel recipiente o utensilio de un solo uso, los más comunes son bolsas, platos, vasos y cubiertos. Al desecharlos ocasionan una gran acumulación de basura que llega a cuantificarse en toneladas.

Daunnette Moniz-Reyome, a proud member of the UmoⁿhoⁿTribe in Nebraska, is turning 19 this year. She began modeling at age 13, appearing in multiple spreads and videos by Teen Vogue, which opened up the world of media attention to her. Despite her passion for the modeling and entertainment industries, Moniz-Reyome struggled to find Native American models to look up to. So, she decided to become that model for other Native American youth.

Tevin August is an inspiring young man from Coronationville in Johannesburg West. He was born with a form of Cerebal Palsy which is a group of disorders that affect a person's ability to move, maintain balance and posture.

He has never allowed his disability to hinder his forward progression both mentally, physical or emotionally; in actual fact it has given him a strong mental capacity and a unique outlook when it comes to taking on life and all its hardships and challenges.

Emerson Munduruku is a young artist, scientist, and educator from the Munduruku people of the Amazon. Through his drag persona, Uyra Sodoma, Emerson blurs the lines between human, animal, and plant. Whether out in the streets of the Amazonian city of Manaus, or in the sterilized space of the art gallery, Emerson disrupts colonial narratives of wilderness, gender, and environmental destruction as he mesmerizes audiences. Emerson spoke with Cultural Survival about his decolonial, queer performances, and about his hopes for both the art world and western science.

Enseñar y aprender cualquier idioma Indígena es un derecho que nos corresponde como seres humanos y miembros de una comunidad Indígena, tal y como lo indica el el artículo 13 de la Declaración de las Naciones Unidas sobre los derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas, en donde se establece que los pueblos tienen derecho a revitalizar, utilizar, fomentar y transmitir a las generaciones futuras sus lenguas, tradiciones orales, sistemas de escritura y literaturas.
