La lucha de los Pueblos Indígenas en Costa Rica: el Frente Nacional de Pueblos Indígenas (FRENAPI)
En Costa Rica hay ocho naciones Indígenas que habitan 24 regiones territoriales. En las últimas décadas, la lucha de estos pueblos por la recuperación de sus territorios se ha intensificado, especialmente a partir de los procesos de recuperación del territorio iniciados hace más de 12 años por el pueblo bribri de Salitre, cuyo líder, Sergio Rojas, fue asesinado en marzo del 2019.
Pueblo Maya Q'eqchi' amenazado por la nueva era energética
En el Estor, Izabal, Guatemala, desde 1960 se instalaron proyectos mineros en los territorios del Pueblo Maya Q’eqchi’, sin su consentimiento y afectando a varias comunidades aledañas, que se han organizado para demandar al Estado el respeto de sus derechos y el cierre de la Compañía de Niquel CGN, más conocida como Minera Fénix.
